St Nicholas Day, 2011 There was a celebration of the Patron Saint's Day of our Church and many families in the Church -- St. Nicholas Day on December 19 (old calendar).
A most special moment awaited worshippers at the conclusion of the morning Liturgy. Fr. Srboljub invited Fr. Timothy Hojnicki of Holy Apostles Mission Church to tell us about the magnificent gift we were about to receive. Fr. Timothy was holding a beautiful small wooden box and he explained it contained sacred relics of St. Nicholas of Myra. This was a gift to him from his father-in-law and he was generously giving us the opportunity to venerate our Patron Saint's relics and experience even more powerfully the comforting protection of our revered Sveti Nikola.
We are grateful to Fr. Timothy for this unexpected and treasured blessing. We also thank Kiril Burnett of Holy Apostles Mission Church for the wonderful photos he took during the Liturgy.
